Ingrid Otto and Jessica Fairbairn join Harris partnership

Harris is pleased to begin the New Year by sharing that Ingrid Otto and Jessica Fairbairn have joined the Harris partnership, effective January 1st.

“This past year, we have been supporting our clients through extremely challenging times” said Lindsie Thomson, Firm Managing Partner. “Ingrid and Jessica have both demonstrated a deep commitment to exceptional service and legal excellence—two qualities that embody what it means to be a partner at Harris & Company. We look forward to welcoming them into our partnership.”

Ingrid was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1996. Prior to joining Harris in April 2019, Ingrid was General Counsel and Executive Director, Legal Services & Strategic Labour Relations at HEABC where she led a team of lawyers who provided human resources and labour relations advice and advocacy services to all publicly funded healthcare employers in the province.  In addition to working as a labour, employment and human rights lawyer with an international law firm for over 15 years, Ingrid was also senior legal counsel during the formation of the Ministry of Justice’s labour law group. There she provided advice to numerous ministries and agencies and defended them both before labour arbitration tribunals and the court. Ingrid has been a proactive and enthusiastic member of the Harris team, and she continues to be relied upon to take on challenging cases in support of our clients.

Jessica started her career in San Francisco after being called to the California State Bar in 2010. While stateside, Jessica received the Award for Excellence in Labour and Employment Law by the American Bar Association and the Bureau of National Affairs and was named a Northern California Rising Star by SuperLawyers in 2013. Jessica joined Harris in 2016, the same year she was called to both the Ontario and BC Bars. Since then, Jessica has applied her legal acumen as a member of Harris’ K-12, Post-Secondary and Film, Television and New Media practice groups. In 2020, Jessica took a leadership role in the firm’s tracking, reporting, and guidance surrounding the impacts of COVID-19 in the workplace.

Our heartfelt congratulations to Ingrid and Jessica.
