The BC Supreme Court has awarded damages equal to twelve months notice to a CEO in her mid-fifties who had been employed by a non-profit health and social services agency for less than four years. The court was influenced by the fact that there had been considerable media publicity of her termination in a small community, and the difficulty the plaintiff would find in securing similar employment.
