BC Minimum Wage Incr...

BC Minimum Wage Increase Now In Effect

June 23, 2025
Share

As discussed in our prior article, effective June 1, 2025, the minimum wage rate for employees governed by the BC Employment Standards Act increased from $17.40 to $17.85 per hour.

Employers in BC who have not already done so should take steps to increase the wage rate of each employee employed for less than $17.85 per hour, and ensure that increase applies retroactively to all work performed on or after June 1, 2025.

This increase applies to employees whose employment is governed by the BC Employment Standards Act. It does not apply to federally regulated employees or employees who are governed by the employment standards legislation of other provinces or territories outside of BC.
