Harris is proud to announce that Wendy Harris, Q.C. has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Wendy will bring over 30 years of legal experience to her role as a Supreme Court Judge. She is a founding member of Harris and the Education Law Practice Group. Her extensive work in labour & employment and education law has led Wendy to be recognized by Best Lawyers in Canadain both Labour and Employment Law and Education Law.
Wendy completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia in 1973, as well as a Bachelor of Laws in 1979. She also attended the University of Toronto and completed a Master of Arts in 1974. She was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1980 and the Bar of the Northwest Territories in 2010. She was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2008.
In addition, Wendy has been an instructor at the University of British Columbia, a frequent speaker at provincial and national conferences and has published numerous articles on various topics related to the area of education law. She was an executive board member and served as President of the Canadian Association for the Practical Studies of Law in Education from 1999 to 2004.
