Two Harris lawyers recognized for their contributions to the legal community

The Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia (CLEBC) recently recognized their most prolific volunteers over the past 20 years; two Harris lawyers were included in the acknowledgement. Partner Matthew Cooperwilliams and Associate Counsel Gavin Hume were credited for making over 30 contributions to the organization.

Over 1,000 volunteers work with the CLEBC annually to fulfill the society’s mandate of meeting the present and future educational needs of the legal profession in British Columbia. Volunteers come from all areas of the legal community, including lawyers, judges, academics, paralegals, and support staff. Although contributions come in many forms, they frequently occur when individuals chair or co-chair a course, author or co-author a book chapter or course paper, or review a book as a member of an editorial board.

Harris & Company LLP has a long history of giving back to the community and we support our practitioners as they contribute their time and expertise to various organizations and charities. Matthew and Gavin’s contributions demonstrate their ongoing commitment in this regard, and we are proud of, and recognize, their efforts.
