Memorandum of Understanding Signed by BC Government and BCMA

March 27, 2002
Share

The BC Government and the BC Medical Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that provides for implementation of certain parts of the contract that had been awarded by arbitration, and negotiation of other issues. The agreement follows protest actions by doctors across the province in the wake of recent legislation. The Medical Services Arbitration Act, which came into force on March 7 2002, cancelled an incomplete arbitration between the government and physicians, and voided parts of the contract awarded by an interim arbitration award.
