Jacob takes a practical approach to workplace law. His background provides ground-floor knowledge of the workplace and how it operates, which is useful in understanding the needs and practical realities of each client. He advises clients in both the public and private sector on issues including labour disputes, occupational health and safety, WorkSafeBC matters, employment standards, and collective bargaining.

Jacob strikes a balance between an in-depth understanding of the law and the day-to-day functional needs of a business; he knows that workplace law is about people as well as a company’s operations. With this approach he is able to provide legal solutions for clients in a targeted, efficient manner.

Jacob began at Harris in 2017 as a student and became an associate with the firm in 2019. He attended law school at Queen’s University. While at university, Jacob was successful in various advocacy competitions, including as a finalist at the Ontario-wide Hicks Morley Labour Law Moot in Toronto. During his time at university, Jacob volunteered with various community organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club and the Canadian Red Cross.
