Performance Management Foundations Seminar

In this introductory seminar, Harris lawyers Colin Edstrom and Sasha Lallouz will provide employers with guidelines on how to set proper standards and how to address performance problems and work-related misconduct.

By attending this session, you will gain:

  • An understanding of the scope of management responsibilities and the legal framework
  • Tools to effectively manage the workplace, including managing difficult employees and coaching for success
  • Knowledge to handle performance issues, including differentiating between and dealing with culpable and non-culpable conduct
  • A review of progressive discipline, and
  • Invaluable guidelines on how to investigate misconduct. 

Who should attend?

This introductory seminar is particularly suitable for new professionals or those looking for a refresher on this area of law. The workshop is relevant to both unionized and non-unionized workforces.

Learning format and materials

This seminar will be completed over one 5-hour session and will incorporate case studies and hypothetical scenarios to provide participants with the opportunity to apply their learnings.
