This introductory session will provide an overview of the FIPPA FOI process including:
- The purpose of FOI legislation
- Managing large and difficult requests
- Determining obligations to respond: Exceptions / Custody and control; Transferring requests
- Calculating and managing timelines
- The duty to assist and conducting and documenting an adequate search
- Assessing fees, conducting fee estimates, and fee waivers and
- File management.
