BC Minister of Labour Reviews Minimum Wage Regulations

The BC Minister of Labour will review the minimum wage under the Employment Standards Act and Regulations. The ministry news release states that “Government is starting discussions with business, anti-poverty organizations, women’s groups and other key stakeholders on potential changes to the BC minimum wage.” The current minimum wage of $7.15 per hour has been in effect for just over two years. The ministry’s deadline for written submissions is July 9, 2000.
