On April 27, 2004, Labour Minister Graham Bruce announced that he has appointed Deputy Minister Lee Doney to meet with the Facilities Bargaining Association and the Health Employers Association of British Columbia to determine if there is any chance of a negotiated settlement to the current health care strike.

Mr. Doney will meet with representatives of the parties in the next 24 hours. He will report back to Minister Bruce following his meetings to provide an update on the possibility of a negotiated settlement. The Minister will then consider options available to the BC Government to help resolve the dispute.
