BC Minimum Wage to Increase June 1st

Minimum wages in British Columbia are set to increase again on June 1.

Starting June 1, 2025, the new general minimum wage will increase from the current rate of $17.40 to $17.85.

The minimum wage for certain prescribed classes of employees, including resident caretakers and farm workers, live-in home support workers and live-in camp leaders will also increase on June 1.

Historically, the general minimum wage in the Province of British Columbia was manually adjusted. Starting in 2024, the general minimum wage in British Columbia automatically adjusts on June 1 of each year based on the All-Items Consumer Price Index for British Columbia as set out in section 16.2 of the Employment Standards Act.
