The Workers Compensation Board has announced the dates of new public hearings in connection with its proposed amendment to the Environmental Tobacco Smoke Regulation. Part of the new regulations were struck down by the courts in March of this year on the basis that the clause in issue had not been subjected to the public hearing process. The result of the new hearings may be that the original regulation prohibiting smoking in all work places will be reinstituted in the future.
