The Professional Employees’ Association has applied to the Labour Relations Board to be certified as the union representing lawyers employed by the Law Society of British Columbia. The application was heard on March 15, 2006, and the Board ordered a vote to be held at the Law Society offices on March 17, 2006. The result of the vote is not expected until April 7, 2006, as the Board has granted an extension of time for employees unable to vote on the scheduled day to vote on the matter.
